About Valentina and Vasu

Vasu and Valentina, based in Berlin, are dancers and teachers known for their chemistry, creativity, and unique approach to swing dancing. Both started as Lindy Hoppers but found a home in Balboa, where they connect deeply with the music and push the boundaries of the dance. Their style is inspired by influences beyond Balboa, blending precision, exploration, and a touch of boldness. Valentina’s ballet background gives her exceptional body awareness and elegance, while Vasu’s analytical and creative mindset brings innovation and clarity. Together, they bring out the best of both worlds. Whether dancing to the slowest ballad or the fastest swing, they’re always up for the challenge. As teachers, Vasu and Valentina focus on clear, practical instruction that encourages creativity and self-expression. They emphasise body movement, posture, rhythms, and shapes, helping students think outside the box and explore new possibilities in their dancing.

What to wear?

Wear what feels comfortable and allows for easy movement. For shoes, avoid rubber soles, as they grip the floor too much, making it harder to glide and potentially straining your knees. Slick leather works best for smooth, fluid movement.
